What can you catch?
Cartagenas is considered the cradle of fishermen and that title is not without reason. The best and most experienced fishermen in the area will tell you that the best season for fishing starts in May (until November, approximately). During this season in the different ponds, lagoons and swamps near the coast you can catch:
- Sea bass (róbalo)
- Shad (sábalo)
- Common two-banded sea bream (mojarra)
- Ocean-bass (pargo negro)
- Mullet (lebranche)
- Sea snails, clams, shrimps, crawfish, lobster
